Day 1: Arrive at Gangotri from Dehradun

 Distance: 245 km

 Travel Time: 9-10 hours

 Altitude: 10,300 ft

Your journey to Gaumukh Tapovan starts from Dehradun. You can reach Dehradun by flight,

bus, or train. From there, we'll head to Gangotri, passing through landmarks like Landour,

Moriana Top, Uttarkashi, and Harsil. In Uttarkashi, you can buy necessary items as it's the

last town with multiple ATM services. Gangotri offers spiritual experiences, with attractions

like the Ganga Maiya Temple and local shops, restaurants, and hotels.

Day 2: Trek from Gangotri to Chirbassa

 Trek Distance: 9 km

 Trek Time: 4-5 hours

 Altitude: 11,700 ft

By the time you reach Gangotri, you will already be 3,415 meters above sea level. Today, we

will begin our journey early in the morning after a warm breakfast. After a few kilometers,

we will reach the forest checkpoint and Ram Mandir. Take a few minutes to rest as your trek

leader generates the nal trek permit for all the trekkers. Take a group photo here and leave for

your journey ahead. From Check Point, we must walk another 7 kilometers to reach Chirbasa.

The remote trail stretches through the conifer forest, which offers opportunity to encounter

the ora and fauna in the region. Before reaching Chirbasa we will come across a rock with

spinkling water. The water from this sprinkler is full of minerals and really pure. Fill your

water bottle here. Night for day 2 will be at Chirbasa. It’s a small settlement, surrounded by

Chir trees and hence the name Chirbasa.

Day 3: Chirbasa to Bhojbasa

 Trek Distance: 6 km Trek

 Time: 4-5 hours

 Altitude: 12,450 ft

Today, we will leave for Bhojbasa Campsite. Bhojbasa is named after the Bhoj Patra tree, the

near by area of Bhojbasa has small Bhoj Patra (Himalayan Birch) trees. The earlier forest was

bigger but now it has shrunk a lot. In ancient times, the leaves of Bhojpatra were used to

write documents, state order, and religious texts. Once we cross Chirbasa, the valley opens

up, and Bhagirathi peaks comes into view. On the trail, you will walk with pilgrims, fellow

trekkers, porters, and some Mules. We will continue our hike towards Bhojbasa and cross

multiple wooden bridges. Also, there comes a landslide area, where your balanced steps are a

must. By evening, we will nally reach Bhojbasa

Day 4: Bhojbasa to Tapovan

- Distance: 8 km

- Trek Time: 7-8 hours

- Altitude Gain: 1,876 ft

- Altitude: 14,150 ft

Today, we'll head to Tapovan, crossing the Bhagirathi River via Trolley and passing through

lush pastures. The landscape transitions to rocky terrain, with views of Bhagirathi peaks and

Akash Ganga stream. The landscape is steep and challenging, so a gradual ascent is

recommended. At Tapovan, you can see the Gangotri Glacier, Mount Shivling, and Meru

Peak..

Day 5: Tapovan to Bhojwasa

- Distance: 8 km

- Trek Time: 6-7 hours

- Altitude Loss: 1,850 ft

- Altitude: 12,480 ft

After witnessing a sunrise over the peaks, we'll descend to Bhojbasa, passing Gaumukh, the

source of the Gangotri Glacier. Enjoying the Bhagirathi peaks' views, we'll trek downhill to

Bhojbasa.

Day 6: Bhojwasa to Gangotri

- Distance: 14 km

- Trek Time: 6-7 hours

- Altitude Loss: 2,750 ft

- Altitude: 10,300 ft

We'll retrace our steps back to Gangotri, passing through wooden bridges and forests. After

reaching Gangotri, we'll check into our hotel and wrap up the trek.

Day 7: Gangotri to Dehradun

After breakfast, we'll drive back to Dehradun via Landour, Moriana Top, Uttarkashi, and

Harsil, concluding our adventure.

○ 3 nights’ accommodation in Gangotri on triple sharing

○ 2 nights’ camping in Bhojbasa and 1 night camping in Tapovan on triple

sharing

Weather Details:

In the initial days of the pre monsoon season (May-Jun) there can be some snow along the

trail which generally melts by the end of May. Days are going to be sunny and warm (12-20

°C) while the night temperature at the highest campsite would be in the range of 0-8 °C. In

the monsoon months this area generally experiences rain but it is rarely of the torrential

variety. In the upper reaches it just drizzles and that too not very occasionally. Temperatures

around this time are almost like the previous months. In the post monsoon season (Sep – mid

Nov) there is hardly any snow at the start with possibility of snow towards the end of the

season, which also melts very fast. The days are sunny with temperatures hovering around

(10-18 °C) the evenings start getting cold with the onset of October and nights are

comparatively colder (- 2 to 8 °C).
